"Port of Los Angeles" is the view encompassing the Vincent Thomas Bridge spanning across the waterway between the port and San Pedro. Bright sun illuminates the bridge and the shipping containers below creating a mixture of man's intrusions against a bright sea sky. Port is 30 x 48 and is acrylic on canvas.
Linda Lindus Fine Art
"I look for freedom. I seek openness, wildness,
to be connected with nature and be free. I find that freedom among Arizona's diverse landscapes" - Linda Lindus
Resume
EDUCATION:
Linda Lindus , a juried artist, began painting in1971. Her art education has been acquired through
self-directed independent study beginning with college in California. Her education continued with private study, and additional college courses, including in Arizona, as well as numerous workshops and classes.
STYLE:
Linda works in acrylic and oil sometimes mixing the two. She uses and combines a variety of techniques using knife work with brush, sometimes introducing molding to elevate rough textures. Her subject matter focuses on the desert and diverse Arizona landscapes and skyscapes.
Lindus’ paintings are done on gallery wrapped canvases for which she selects floater framing to enhance the boldness of each work. Her palette is primarily intense and warm sometimes fading when she believes a work calls for softness. It is the vibrancy that is her optimism and trademark.
VOLUNTEERISM & FAMILY
Lindus gives back to the art community through volunteering during sponsor functions, committee work, curating and hanging new exhibits.
She has been active in community organizations such as Chambers of Commerce Economic Development Committees, and equine and professional organizations.
Her family, including siblings and children reside in Arizona. Her Australian Shepherds keep her busy when she is not painting.
